This session will explore how real estate investment and asset management teams are approaching technology adoption beyond core systems, including analytics, portfolio tools, and emerging AI use cases. We’ll compare what firms mandate versus leave flexible, across property managers, LP/GP structures, and ownership types, and discuss whether technology is supported by dedicated internal resources or driven organically by teams.

11:30am Buy, Hold, Sell: The Nuts and Bolts of Analysis
In a fluid market where it is increasingly difficult to deliver consistent outperformance, asset level hold or sell decisions have meaningful portfolio consequences. This interactive session will examine the internal processes, approval frameworks, and key metrics firms use to evaluate whether to recycle capital or continue to hold, including a redacted sample analysis for peer discussion. Attendees will walk away with practical ideas and alternative analytical lenses to strengthen the recommendations they bring forward within their organizations.

1:30pm Role Clarity: Structuring an Asset Management Department
As asset management platforms scale and evolve, firms continue to grapple with role clarity, team structure, and accountability. This interactive session explores how organizations are structuring asset management teams, defining responsibilities across the investment lifecycle, and allocating resources across asset types and markets. Through peer discussion and live polling, participants will benchmark approaches, surface trade‑offs, and leave with practical perspectives to assess whether their current structure is fit for purpose.

2:45pm Constructive Tension: Strengthening Alignment Between Acquisitions & Asset Management
How do firms intentionally cultivate constructive tension between acquisitions, operations, and asset management teams to drive stronger investment performance? We’ll examine how structured feedback loops, from underwriting assumptions to in-year operating results, create accountability and sharpen decision-making across the deal lifecycle. Attendees will discuss whether and how their companies implement these processes, how often they meet, who leads the conversation, what the meetings cover and, most importantly, how they translate insights into measurable improvements.
